Cheers to You

You starting to feel like you are in a pit, no way out, at the end of your rope. You are not alone. This video will help cheer you up or at least point you in the right direction 😛
Just kidding, but thought it was funny, I had a great meeting tonight with CDF and a couple guys from Stadia Church Planting, great guys. Funny how life comes around full circle, three years ago I was in talks with Stadia, it did not work out like I would have hoped, we did not connect, After I went through the application process, I received the dreaded letter in the mail, Sorry Tone, we at this time do not think we are a good match. It hurt but I moved on, I had a good laugh tonight, I drove up to the church for the meeting and who do you think was there, It was the guy that had to write me that letter….Well the funny part for me was, Boy I am glad I wrote him a kind letter three years ago letting him know I thought they were wrong , not wanting to partner with me but I fully respected their decision, in truth , I did not because they missed out on ME 🙂 anyway, it was great to be able to sit across the table from them and really respect what they are doing and that they will now be in a position to work with ME as we move forward at ALCC…
Just kidding, It will be a great time working with Stadia, even if ….

Happy New Year 2009

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to jump in and wish all of you a very happy new year. I was looking over where I have been over the last year, I have had some fantastic ups and downs 🙂 The best part of 2008 for me has been the journey at ALCC  , we have really been on a wild ride but every step of the way has been directed by the Lord. We have put a ton of junk behind us and are on the edge of a great opportunity for ministry in 2009. The love and support of so MANY people at ALCC and other like minded ministries has been breathtaking.

We are reaching so many families and ministries that were in need and the Lord has just thrown open our doors to them. The impact in the local community is more than I could ever quantify here, but we are reaching hundreds of people through the kindness of those that call ALCC home. Some of those we are partnering with or praying for are:

The list goes on and on. We have so very much to be thankful for and looking over my list  and life for 2008, I can not even begin to thank all those who helped me in the transition into my roll at the church. I know when I put down on paper the names of those friends , I will inevitably  leave someone off, so I will not even try to list you all. I do want to just say a special thanks to John & Dixie, your loving kindness to my family has made the difficulties of a long distance pastorate a non-issue, you opening your home and hearts is something I will never be able to repay. Cook’s, McCullough’s, your friendship is something I will cherish for ever. Marcia, a real work horse in getting things rolling, even when I thought it could never get done. Bruce, Linda, talk about behind the scenes, your dedication to the work of Christ is so very much appreciated. Art your act of putting out the hand of forgiveness , Love and reconciliation meant more to me than you will ever know. And the list goes on  and on and on, The encouraging words from Patti and Lottie, your sincerity made my year.

We have so much ahead for 2009 and I can not think of any group of people I would rather be around than you all.

I was looking over my little blue journal and reading through the prayer request from 2008, wow, we have had a lot to pray for. It is great to revisit the cards and see how the Lord has answered the prayers, some of them not in a way we understand or see as positive in the here and now, but God is in control and he will see HIS work through to His glory, hang on for the next chapter at ALCC.

One last thing. Not very spiritual but I hope to rekindle a long lost love this year,,,,,I am so close to breaking the ten thousand mile mark but I have let it slide this year…..I will press on and hit 10 k in the coming weeks and will let you know when I do 😛

Thanks to all
