He is a good man

Acts 11:22-24 {ESV}

22 The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, 24 for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

What a great week or so it has been, busy but really going well. I am in the process of moving alittle closer to ALCC so I can minister to the church during this season that the Lord has entrusted to me. Again, I am blown away with the love of Christ and the people of ALCC, I am not sure of how long this season will last but I am 100% sure the Lord has plans for all of us.

A couple of things really struck me this week and particularly today, I was with a family tonight that is seeing their Papa go through some real tough stuff in the hospital, ‘Papa’ is in real pain and discomfort as they try to figure out what is going on, as he was laying in his hospital bed, struggling with being poked and prodded, undergoing tests and diagnosis , it was something to watch as his faith was in action even while flat on his back, he was witnessing to nurses, inviting them to church. It got me thinking about Barnabas and Acts 11: 24 for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. Glenn fills this passage of scripture better than I ever will, Glenn is a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith.

Glenn, I love you, get well

OK to believe in ET: Vatican astronomer

Well this is interesting and full of some clearly anti biblical views of the origin of life.  HERE is the story, you can make up your own mind but as for me, I think this guy has lost a clear Biblical view in the origin of the universe and life.

“Regarding the beginning of the universe, Fr Funes says the “big bang” theory seems to him the most plausible and that it does not contradict the Bible.

“We cannot ask the Bible for a scientific answer here. At the same time, we don’t know if in a near future the ‘Big Bang’ theory will be superseded by a more complete and precise explanation of the origin of the universe.”

Just lost in the music tonight

I absolutley love this video from Sinead, It has to be in my top 5 songs. I am not sure what strikes me most, the great drum work, the solid bass playing or her 100% smooth voice.

I will list my top 5-10 songs later this week but for now, this one it just great.

Lord, guide my path

Psalm 92:5
5 How great are your works, O Lord!

Your thoughts are very deep!

I am off for a weekend of fun with Conor, I am not 100% sure where we are going. I will put the key in the truck, say -Hey Con Man where should we go. I will point the truck in that direction and go. It is great to have a 16 year old adventurer to knock around with, great Son I have.

I grabbed a couple of books off the old book shelf and am looking forward to not doing much this weekend. The down time is needed. So, a long four day weekend with Conor, a book and down time, life is good. I must admit though, I already miss my church family, it was odd not preparing a message this week, just fun reading, I needed that too.

As I was poking around I came across this clip prom John Piper, he is one of my favorite preacher/teachers, he is, what I hope I can be, straight with the Word, true to the Word, unashamedly able to preach what scripture lays out, not compromise, not preach around tough topics, not be agenda driven, not compromising in my presentation, I will be dwelling on this clip for a while.

I look forward to my return to ALCC, but am just as excited about the road trip this weekend

Blessings to all
