Clean Water or Coupons to Help TV Transition

What in the world have we come to, HERE is an unbelievable story about waste of time, money and resources in our government. I am happy for the digital signal on my TV and glad to have one but for the government to tinkle away 40 million on this is sad.

We have people all over the globe in need of clean drinking water and we are giving out coupons for an upgraded TV so we can watch CSPAN and our illustrious leaders tell us how good they are and how thankful we should be that they are blessing us with a digital receiver, thanks but no thanks, this is just another reason to toss the bums out.

No mater your political leaning, I must say at least the folks at One.org are doing something , as is Rick Warrens church

  • Every 15 seconds, a child dies from a disease associated with lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene.
  • Of the 1 billion people lacking access to clean water, approximately 314 million live in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Every $1 invested in water yields an economic return worth $8 in saved time, increased productivity and reduced health care costs.

Unsafe water and poor sanitation play a major role in the transmission of diseases including Diarrhea, Cholera, Malaria, and Typhoid. More than 1.8 million children die each year – roughly one child every 15 seconds – from water and sanitation-related Diarrheal diseases.

HERE is the full story

I think for 08 I am going to do all I can to support clean drinking water for those in need. If you know any churches that are doing something, email me a link
